How It All Started…

The idea for Story Sprouts came to life one evening while we were babysitting a friend’s little boy. As part of his bedtime routine, he picked a Tonie audio story to listen to. We were intrigued, but as we listened, we noticed something—it was just another generic story featuring well-known cartoon characters.

It got us thinking… What if kids could listen to stories that were truly about them?

Dave, with a background in digital marketing for a children’s play equipment company, saw an opportunity. He sat down and created a short, personalised audio story for the little boy—featuring his own name, his favorite teddy, and even his parents as characters.

When he pressed play, the reaction was pure magic.

His eyes lit up with excitement, and from that night on, he wanted his special story every bedtime. Seeing how much joy it brought, Catriona (a Special Needs Assistant with a deep love for children’s learning and development) encouraged Dave to create more stories for friends’ children. Each time, the response was the same—kids were enchanted hearing themselves in their own personalised adventure!

And So, Story Sprouts Was Born…
